Wax Series
What began as an exploration of material and meaning during a residency at Way Out East Gallery in London in 2024 has evolved into an ongoing body of work investigating how objects carry memory, knowledge and cultural identity. Reimagining furniture, architectural fragments, museum artefacts and religious iconography in wax, Laura Dzelzytė transforms familiar forms into fragile, luminous sculptures that question permanence, preservation and power. Through the material language of wax, each object becomes a contemporary encounter with history, inviting viewers to consider how meaning is preserved, transformed and continually renegotiated across time.
